Couldn’t there be more than 24 hours in a day?

28 September 2013

Balls…. How many can I juggle at any one time? Well, this weekend it would seem, I have rather more than I can handle. The list appears to be endless with new additions all the time. That said, I am delighted that many items include phrases such as ‘write proposal for….’, ‘complete lecture synopsis for….’,’finish X [insert client’s name] tree….’ and other family history stuff. This, interspersed with volunteer work for the two organisations I chair, as well as the mathematical education missions I am still involved with, has made for a juggling event to challenge the current world record.

So, is it true what they say: if you want something done, ask a busy person? As I mentioned yesterday, tomorrow’s mission is a trip to Horndean. Maybe ‘Old Timers’ is setting in but the last time I ran the Guild Stand there – which was only last year – I swear Gertrude (that’s my Satnav) did not tell me that it would take me 2 HOURS…. You cannot be serious!

Somehow I do believe that, one way or another, Sunday is going to be the longest day of the week. May the roads be clear and the day be superbly attended, with lots of gene-colleagues to catch up with and wonderful family historians to meet. If you are attending, do pop along to the Guild Stand and say Hi! If not, do me a favour and put all your hopes in a traffic free trip for me.
