And here I am, back in residence at Niagara-on-the-Lake…. Day 1 (for me) of the OGS Conference 2014 is over. I will wax lyrical after the weekend is over about the lecturers, the amazing people I have met, the names I have put the faces and the simply outstanding experience here. However, for this evening, I just have to say an enormous THANK YOU …..MERCI BEAUCOUP and much more to the conference organisers at #ogscon2014.
Having organised five of the last ten Guild of One-Name Studies Annual Conference events, I know only too well how challenging it is to run a convention such as this, coordinating all the various tasks and delegating to a team of dedicated volunteers. Yes, volunteers…. They do this for nothing and for the benefit of us all. It’s a thankless task – when things go wrong, guess what? It’s the organisers fault. And when things go right? Not a word is uttered.
So, please take the opportunity to say a few words of thanks to the team tomorrow. And I will give you chapter and verse on Monday – tomorrow is #52Ancestors!
