Panic not. No-one has shuffled off this mortal coil. Well, they quite possibly have somewhere in the world, but not anyone closely linked to FWL. This is more about the monumental task list and by jove, it’s humongous! Having had several rooms decorated and carpeted recently (as regular readers of the blog here will know), the office has been in disarray for almost a month. Nothing to do with the workmen who left weeks ago but when you take down the blinds/curtains etc., you think ‘Ugh! Do I really want to put those back up again?’ and most of the time, the answer is ‘No’!
So, although today is Valentine’s Day (invented by Hallmark, I’m sure), Mr FWL has been kind enough to assist with many of the tasks on the ‘to-do’ list which require his specialist attention, i.e. putting up shelves and mirrors. [Pause: need to go and advise on the desired level of the shelf.] In previous times, these tasks have had to wait for a visit from Ma & Pa FWL but now, an extra pair of hands is on deck!
In the meantime, I have been using implements which rarely see the light of day – cloths, dusters, Mr Sheen (other polishes are available) and various spray cleaners. Heavens above …. the garage has been filled with the ‘no longer required’ pile, the front door can actually be fully opened and the hallway does not look like a bombsite anymore! What a successful Saturday!
The work ‘to-do’ list is still at the same level as this morning, however. So, I feel a tree draft coming up, along with a glass of wine and The Voice. Need to treat ourselves for the evening at least….
