Those of you who are regular readers of the FWL blog will know of my recent vehicular issues. Today was the sad day when I said my final farewell to my faithful chariot, Roxy. From the documentation I handed over, I calculated that we had travelled over 80,000 miles together. Google tells me that New York to London is 3,459 miles. We’ve done that over 23 times!
The diary this morning looked hectic from the outset and at times, looked set to fall asunder entirely. Calls which weren’t scheduled (though were enormously appreciated!), various cases which required attention, several meetings and throw in a bartering appointment with the garage regarding the new car, oh …. and that eating malarkey has to fit in somewhere doesn’t it? Wowee, what a day! It’s amazing the tasks which can be slotted into small windows of opportunity.
Life is all about opportunities – what happens if you let them pass you by? I would guess that you might well end up regretting it. Plenty of things could have slipped through the net today but did we say no? We certainly did not!
It was definitely a good day to have a good day. Expect the unexpected. What will tomorrow bring? An early, early start to head down to Salisbury to do some business networking at BNI Spire and copious tasks on the list – dozens of calls to make, so watch those phones tomorrow folks!
“Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion”. Too true, Cyril Northcote Parkinson – what a wise man you were. I think we’d have ‘got along’ very well. Shame our paths never crossed before you passed….
