Did someone say I was away in Canada until yesterday morning, lecturing on the main stage at the Ontario Genealogical Society Conference in Barrie? I am sure that must be a lie as today it seemed like I have never been away…. The paperwork certainly mounted up in my absence and so, with several cases back from the Government Legal Department, more ID and contracts from beneficiaries than you can shake a stick at and a pile of certificates which would make any family historian beam, I braved the day (after a slight lie in) to get ‘back in the groove’.
It’s similar to falling off a bicycle, I guess. You get your head back around the cases – Heir Hunting, Tracing, Family History, etc. – and get the task list sorted. During my time away, I have come up with a great new management system to organise us even better at FWL. Before, we were a force to be reckoned with. Now, we are ready to take on the world…. oh, we did already!
Over the last few months, several new members have joined the team at FWL. The best thing (for me) is that they have coped amazingly without me whilst I was trotting the globe! Currently, we have some potential ‘apprentices’ working on some dead cases (‘scuse the pun) but we are still looking to grow the team.
At the OGS Conference, we picked up several research missions from attendees. The project list has never been longer. So, are you looking to join an outstanding team to work on a wide variety of projects, with flexible hours and enormous job satisfaction? Why not get in touch to find out more…. Ideally, applicants should have a family history research background and experience in using some of the main commercial and free online websites in the field.
I am so back in the groove. Bring it on …. Let the fun begin!
