It is the largest family history conference in the world and I have never been. Well, in 2016, I am going to change that. I am off to RootsTech. It is said to be “the perfect place to discover, preserve, and share your family stories and connections across generations. With a line-up of world-class speakers, thrilling entertainment, over 200 engaging classes, and a huge expo hall, there’s something for everyone, no matter the age and skill level.”
I had originally intended to ‘just be a delegate’. I didn’t apply to be a speaker and I was hoping to mooch around and enjoy it, without having any ties on my time and energies. Well, that quickly change. Jill Ball invited me to a be a panelist so I am now on the official speakers list and earlier this month, I received an email appointing me as a RootsTech Ambassador. OK, I have clearly failed on the ‘going under the radar’ approach.
27 hours to go – you are probably wondering what the deadline is, and if you are not, you should be!! As a RootsTech Ambassador, I have a registration pass to give away to a worthy recipient. I have advertised this on various social media channels but now, it’s your final opportunity. You have just 27 hours to go until the deadline – 12noon (UK London Time – GMT) tomorrow, 30 October 2015. If you haven’t said ‘Yes please’ by then, your name will not go into the draw. You can email me, fill out the contact form on the website, post a comment here on the blog, send me a direct message on Twitter, message me on Facebook…. I don’t care how you do it!!! I will confirm receipt of all entries and you can only enter once, so you won’t gain anything by sending messages via numerous methods….
I will announce the winner on Saturday 31st October. Good luck and I look forward to seeing many of you there!
