You know it’s been a crazy day when the easiest thing to crack was a case where the deceased was born in Eastern Europe! No – we cannot locate a birth for Mr X nor Ms Y in England, but Eastern Europe? Bring it on! Sometimes the information presented to us is, to be frank, a load of codswallop. Wood? Trees? Frequently, a challenge!
The photocopier/scanner/printer network at FWL Towers is now back on track after a significant hiccup last week. It is amazing. We coped quite adequately before it was installed but without it, the wheels turned so much slower. Even the simplest things…. scan a case file before posting it off – well, you might want to but if you do, scan each page individually. Erm, no thank you!
The weekend was one big fat writing weekend for me, in large part. Aside from the letters posted out on Saturday – all £122.80! – A-Z blogs have been prepared for the A-Z Blog Challenge. What is the A-Z Blog Challenge, I hear you ask? Well, shame on you…. Have a shufti at the website and get involved, if you have ‘capacity’ as a blogger. You may well wonder where it all began…. well, as the website states: “It all began with my post from Saturday March 27, 2010 when I set forth a challenge to all bloggers for the month of April. Can you post every day except Sundays during this month? And to up the bar, can you blog thematically from A to Z?”
When FWL began blogging, we used to blog every day. Business is so hectic that we just don’t have the time nowadays BUT we still manage every other day. Not bad, eh! However, next month we will (hopefully, eek!) manage to blog our way, thematically, through an A-Z of FWL Land. “What will that look like?”, we hear you cry? You seriously think we’d give that game away?!!! Then you don’t know us very well!
Next week, we are heading to Who Do You Think You Are? Live. Most of the team will be there in one capacity or another. Me – MD – I’ll be on the stage on a few occasions informing the interested public about various things which I am apparently qualified to educate them on. We are all looking forward to catching up with genie-mates from near and far – travellers from Canada (several) and even from Australia! Lots of great lectures from far too many speakers to individually shout them out here…. Have a look at the Workshop Timetable for more information.
It’s odd to think that today is Tuesday and, in another 24 hours, we’ll be closer to next weekend than the last. I, for one, am extremely grateful for a shorter working week. Oh, damn…. I am working the weekend shift again. Zzzz…..
