About a year ago, we were approached by a chartered accountant who found himself as the administrator of the estate of a first cousin. The cousin was much loved, and contact had been maintained throughout the years, but as many do, he had passed away without leaving a Will, and without any close relatives, only cousins.
Nigel had done a very good job of the beginning of the family tree but had unresolved questions about the ‘other’ side of the family – his cousin’s paternal relatives. We were able to help unravel the family tree for Nigel, and we also acted as a third party for professional communications with the beneficiaries. We conducted phone calls, and interviews, shared a draft family tree for distribution purposes with the family, and also collected formal permissions for us to forward contact details on to Nigel, in his capacity as administrator.
One year later, the estate has passed successfully through the Court of Probate and we are able to assist the administrator with some aspects of his final distribution.
He writes “Family Wise have saved me headaches, and plugged the gap of time and knowledge in liaising professionally with the family and I have no hesitation recommending them for this work”.
