The estate of Esmond Percy will always stick in our minds. From a young age, it was clear his life was destined for the stage. He achieved his dream of running a slick entertainment-based charity benefitting people just like himself, who had had a difficult start in life. With his wife Selina, their crowded tumble-down house out of town was the perfect base for all their enterprises and schemes. Over time, the charity creaked around the edges too, and the arrival of more than a dozen cats and impending deafness must have made business conversations around the higgledy-piggledy property very challenging.
Esmond passed away in 2020, a year after his beloved wife Selina. And that year had not been easy. Things were a mess. There was no Will, personal possessions and those pertaining to the charity needed to be resolved, as well as the sale of assets. We were referred the work by a local council. a few weeks after Esmond’s passing and we were in deep for more than a year’s worth of work.
Our pricing structure meant that is was economical for the estate to work with us. Before the property could be sold, the cats needed to be re-homed, four skips were ultimately collected from the property and while selling the couples’ motor vehicles, we scraped our wing-mirror going down the narrow country lane!
Ultimately, there were 60 people benefitting from the intestate estate, from Canada to Australia. We were able to find them all and to ensure that they each received their due share of the estate.
