It’s Saturday and another jolly work day at FWL. Every day is a work day really…. Began by sorting out one of the boxes of paperwork for the £0.5 million estate we are administering (plenty more boxes to go!) on the conference table in the office, hoping that it would save some other surfaces for the week ahead. Ran out of space very quickly and the floor will have to be used for the next box, it would seem.
Dawn (FWL Chief in charge of post) brought a new bunch of presents this morning and although the vital certificate did not arrive, plenty of other gems did. During the construction of one family history, the telephone rang and from the caller’s identity, I immediately knew what the news was. Mr X was in Coventry and had managed to find out the name of his half-sister! A swift look on our ‘databases’ located an address, a telephone number (which will not be used right now….) and the names of Mr X’s niece and nephew. Another job to add to the ‘to-do’ list for Monday – write a letter to Mrs XXX, asking her to get in touch. Oh, how exciting! [Well, I might just manage to draft it tomorrow actually ….!]
One item of post gave the team great joy and has kept us busy for a fair hours – won’t say too much more at present, as I don’t want to ‘let the cat out of the bag’ but I’ll just say a big thank you to Mr Shaw. Your help is greatly appreciated. I only wish more people were like you in this world.
Those who know me will know that me being rendered almost speechless is rare and it has happened twice this week alone. I mentioned the other day that our tagline ‘We find people‘ needs to be changed to ‘We change lives‘ and boy, we do…. and now, seemingly, on an almost daily basis! #lovemyjob
