Ray and Lizzie came to us through Bark. Ray was interested in tracing back his family history and finding out more about his direct ancestors. We were able to trace his ancestors back several generations and provide additional life details surrounding his ancestors. After we had worked on Ray’s family tree, Lizzie asked if we would be able to provide her with some assistance, as she had been adopted as a child. Although she was aware of her birth parents’ names, she was unaware of what had happened to them. Using DNA, we were able to distinguish between the various candidates and conclusively establish the identity of both parents – and indeed discovered that her mother was still alive and living in Arizona. Our work on Ray and Lizzie’s family has greatly increased the knowledge of their families and deepened their understanding of their own pasts and heritage.
Susan was referred to us by a friend and colleague who we met via a business networking organisation. She had been adopted at a young age. Around forty years ago, she successfully traced her birth mother, who sadly then passed away before Susan was able to make contact. However, Susan knew that she had a half-sibling. After some initial work, we discussed that she had a half-sister, Karin, born after her birth mother was married. We were then able to trace Karin to the other side of the world – Australia. Thanks to our efforts, Karin and Susan were able to make contact and met soon after, and are in constant contact to this day.
